Answer to all life’s riddles: 42
Chris Bye is a versatile cross-media designer/art director with strengths in the consumer, financial, e-commerce and apparel branding markets. He is currently accepting project work.
In recent years, Chris founded Bye Design Group. He is responsible for the overall creative vision and direction of the agency including: assisting clients with communication solutions, proposal writing, design and interface visualization. His projects include work for Scunci, Honeywell, Bodyguard Records and Half.com as well as work for several Philadelphia based Ad Agencies.
Before forming Bye Design Group, Chris was employed full time by Refinery in Hatboro, PA. While working as an Art Director there, he was able to lead a team of talented copywriters, designers, and animators to achieve award winning work for such clients as Campbell's Soup, Rohm and Haas and Sony Picture Classics. Whether concepting a banner campaign for Merrill Lynch or designing a flash site for Pepperidge Farm, the goal remained the same - present a clear consistent message and provide a seamless user experience.
Prior to Refinery, Chris worked at Weblinc in Philadelphia. His primary role was that of an Art Director/Designer, developing visual design direction for online projects including: user navigation, iconography, color scheme, type treatment, animation and photo usage. His project experience consisted of work with such clients as Speedo, Calvin Klein, Alfred Angelo, Trizec Properties, Revell-Monogram, Lilly Pulitzer, and USGS.
Chris graduated from Bucks County Community College in 1994, where he studied Film/Cinematography with a primary focus on animation. After completing a year long endeavor to make the worlds goofiest 4 minute claymation movie, "The Greatest Pizza Ever Sold", he ventured to NYC to work as a production assistant for Ridley Scott & Associates. There he worked for two years on many high budget TV commercials and music videos. Upon returning from New York, Chris spent the next year of his life working with a crew of 20 people to completely restore a 1922 PTC Carousel that now resides at Giggleberry Fair in Peddler's Village (Lahaska,PA). Throughout these five years, he completely enveloped himself in the art of modern design, composition and advertising, and became the self imposed computer geek that you might know him as today.
Songwriting, Mountain Biking, Starbucks, Gadgets, and MP3's
When not burning the midnight flouresence on his latest design projects, Chris can be found slaving over his latest mixes with grammy awarding winning engineer Mike Tarsia. His Cello induced rock band, The Helots have been garnering much praise for their uniquely crafted original sound. more
